COVID-19 Testing

We offer various COVID-19 tests tailored to your needs. We conduct
COVID-19 testing to detect positive cases and avoid a COVID-19 outbreak on-campus.

  • This test is considered as the ‘Gold Standard' for the detection of viruses. It is characterised by rapid detection, high sensitivity and specificity. The specimens used here are deep nasal swab and oropharyngeal swab.
  • The report will mention if the individual is COVID-19 positive or negative.
  • If an individual is COVID-19 positive, they need to quarantine themselves, monitor their symptoms and consult the nearest hospital if the symptoms aggravate.
  • This test detects specific antibodies generated by the immune system in response to a virus, including COVID-19.
  • IgG antibodies develop against COVID-19 once the person has recovered from coronavirus infection.
  • Blood samples are considered as specimens for testing.
  • Calculates the rate of infection in terms of how rapidly the virus is spreading.
  • If an individual has a positive test report, then it suggests that the person has developed antibodies. A negative test report suggests that the person has not developed antibodies.
  • This test detects the amount of virus or viral load in the nasal swab.
  • It is a point-of-care test and provides rapid results in 30 minutes.
  • If an individual has a positive report, then it suggests that person is COVID-19 positive. If the report reads negative, and the individual has symptoms, then they need to conduct a RT-PCR test to confirm if they are infected by COVID-19 virus.

Yes, Syngene has a dedicated team to collect samples from client sites. We collect two samples (nasopharyngeal and throat swab) from each individual.

Syngene has a capacity of testing 800–1000 samples per day using RT-PCR. Turnaround Time (TAT) for results is upto 24hrs.

Our RT-PCR facility has been fully functional since April 2020.

No, a negative result does not mean you will not test positive in the next few days. A negative test report means the person has either not yet been infected by the virus, or the viral load is too low to be detected by the testing.

Employees need to carry their Aadhaar Card. The testing team will collect the employee Aadhaar Card number, employee name, mobile number and email ID for sample collection.
